There’s not long to go until Knutsford’s Christmas extravaganza on Saturday 30th November and Sun 1st December! We’ve rounded up all the details about everything happening around the town throughout the weekend…
A two-day festive street market will return to the town centre with stalls across Princess Street and Silk Mill Street. An array of Cheshire’s finest artisan foods, handmade crafts and unique gift ideas will be available for purchase.
Hot food and drink stalls selling all your favourite comfort foods as well as hot coffee and a selection of bars selling beer, cocktails, mulled wine and more will be located in Canute Place on Saturday 30th and outside the Lost and Found on Princess Street on Sunday 1st.
Be sure to visit the Mayor’s Christmas stall on Princess Street to enter his raffle to win a festive hamper and help raise money for local youth services and a starter fund for a skate park.
On Saturday 30th, head down to King Street to see Santa in his sleigh in a brand new Santa Parade, which will also feature LED light performers, all your favourite Christmas characters and more! The parade will set off at 5pm from the bottom of King Street near Knutsford Train Station, then will head along King Street and Minshull Street, finishing in Canute Place.
Stage Entertainment & Lights Switch on
Visitors to the market can enjoy live entertainment on Saturday 30th from 1pm in Canute Place. The performances on stage will include local musicians, schools and dance troupes who will entertain you while you enjoy some hot food and drinks. You can see the timetable of performances here.
Stick around for the big Christmas Lights Switch On at 6pm where the Mayor will be joined by special celebrity guests Adam and Katy Rickitt!
Other fun happening over the weekend
Santa will be in his grotto on Silk Mill Street all weekend.
The Bethlehem Experience, an interactive walk through of the Christmas story, will be running between 1 & 4pm on Saturday at St John’s Church on Church Hill, opposite The Courthouse. This is a free, drop in event suitable for all ages!
The Dancing Unicorn stall on Princess Street outside the Lost and Found will be offering face painting and glitter tattoos all day on Saturday.
There will be a funfair in the Princess Street car park behind Waitrose for the whole weekend.
Park and Ride/Park and Walk Scheme
There will be a Park and Ride service offering a FREE shuttle service running back and forth between Booths Park and Knutsford Bus Station. The shuttle takes 5 to 10 minutes and will run continuously for the whole weekend. Use postcode WA16 8GS and follow signs to Car Park C. The service is free but there will be the option to make a donation.
Knutsford Football Club (WA16 0NX) will also be running a Park and Walk on Sunday 1st December. For a small donation, visitors can park their car a 10 minute walk from the centre.

Late Night Shopping event on Thursday 5th December – Many shops will be staying open late until 8pm offering promotions, mince pies, mulled wine and tastings. Father Christmas will also be at Hal Whittaker’s and there will be some live music to entertain the shoppers! Click for more details
Community Crib Service on Saturday 7th December – Join the Mayor for a short carol service at 4pm by the town crib outside Lost and Found on Princess Street. Click for more details.
Family Christmas Disco on Saturday 7th December – The Mayor invites you to his family disco with a visit from Santa, 6-8pm at Shaw Heath Social Club. Hooked on the Heath will be providing pre-ordered food and kids can receive a hotdog, squash drink and a gift from Santa included in their ticket.
