Come and celebrate the summer at Beach On The Quay! The beach will be open every day (weather permitting) until 1st September but we will also be hosting free and exciting summer activities on Saturdays! Viking Sunday

Renowned for their authenticity and humour, as well as their film and television work, the Vikings of Middle England, along with others, invade Tatton’s Old Hall! Although the BBC have called them “frighteningly realistic,” these Vikings have promised to adapt their activities to suit a family audience. But would you trust a Viking’s word? After all, Viking means “sea robber” or “pirate.” Experience combat as well as domestic life, trades and skills such as coin striking and calligraphy. Meet the Animals Farm Walk

Riverside Organic, Davenham

Come for a morning out in the fresh air and get up close and hands on with our friendly four legged residents. Learn about the jobs a farmer does and life on the farm, as we take a walk around the farm, feeding and petting the animals as we go. Aimed at at ages 2-7 years old but younger and older children are welcome! Babies under 1 are free of charge. PLEASE BOOK ONLINE – we may not be able to accommodate you if you just turn up on the day! £6 per participated child (1 accompanying adult free of charge). Every Sunday from 28th July to 1st September will be ‘Sundays are Fun Days’ at the park, with all day children’s rides, bouncy castles, and trampolines* for only £5. Whilst the kids are jumping around, parents can relax in the Concorde Restaurant, spend some time on the viewing platforms watching the take offs and landings of the airport’s hundreds of daily flights, or explore the aircraft on one of the park’s many tours. *Children can play all day for £5 each between 10am and 5pm. Click for more details

Summer Train Rides at The Hayloft

The Hayloft,  Widnes
Selected days, 10am – 4:30pm 

Whitfield Light Railway is at The Hayloft Ice Cream and Coffee Shop, providing train rides through the summer. Trains will be pulled by either our steam tram ‘Kestrel’, or petrol loco ‘Otter’. Train rides will be 10am to 4.30pm and are weather dependent. Any change will be publicised on our Facebook events page. The return train rides have a charge of £2.50 per adult, £2 per child (under 14) or £8 for family of 4. Carers & children under 1 are free. Space Chase Reading Challenge

Taking part in the Challenge is simple – when your summer holidays start, you can sign up for free at your local library. You’ll receive your very own Space Chase mission folder to get you started. Read six library books (or more!) over the holidays to collect special stickers to add to your folder.  Collect all the stickers to find the aliens, save the missing books and complete the Challenge. Grab your space suit and take a giant leap into the library this summer! Ultimate Brick Safari

This summer the Ultimate Brick Safari is coming to Knowsley Safari. Over 80 lifesize animal sculptures made from LEGO® bricks will be popping up on our Foot Safari! Mill Trail: Become a Factory Inspector
