Siemens Gadget Factory Workshop

Jodrell Bank, nr Goostrey
Tues 28th & Weds 29th May various times

Children can come along and learn the basics of circuitry and electronics while producing their own flashing badge in this FREE workshop led by volunteers from Siemens. Workshops last 1 hour and are suitable for children aged 8+, accompanied by an adult. Workshop places are free with general admission but please book in advance.Click for more details and to book


Planting Pumpkins

Kenyon Hall Farm, Warrington

Farmer Tod grows 13,000 pumpkins for our Pumpkin Festival every October and he needs your help to plant them! The 45 minute sessions will include: learning activities, a visit to the pumpkin patch where each child will get to plant a pumpkin and a potting session to plant a sunflower to take home and grow. Our attendees will also be invited back in late September for an exclusive visit to inspect how the Junior Farmer pumpkin patch has grown before we open to the public. Tatton Teddy Hunt

Bee activities at Dunham

Join in with a family friendly wildlife survey to spot Dunham’s special bees and learn how to communicate like a bee with Waggle Dancing and magnetic Hula Hooping, amongst others. We will be hosting a special Beespoon installation in the orangery during the second week, which explores how hard a bee works to produce a tiny amount of honey! Click for more details

Predators at Chester Zoo

Cheshire Beekeepers

Drop by the Cheshire Beekeepers’ Stand and explore the wonderful life of the honeybee and find out how to encourage bee friendly habitats. You’ll also be able to watch master Beekeepers at work in a live beekeeping demonstration (times depending on weather, find out more on the day). Monkey Forest Conservation Week

Monkey Forest, Stoke – on – Trent

Monkey Forest is home to 140 free-ranging Barbary macaques. Visitors walk along the 3/4 of a mile pathway. Walk, watch and be AMAZED as the endangered monkeys live as they would in the wild. There are also feeding talks, adventure play areas and more.  During Conservation Week 50p of all entrance tickets will be donated to 2 chosen projects that help protect the Barbary macaques living in the wild.
