Santa Claus is coming to…Knutsford!!!
After much anticipation, Knutsford’s Christmas Weekend is here, with a festive market, reindeer parade, entertainment, and a chance to meet Father Christmas in his grotto!! Read on to find details on all of this, plus some other events going on nearby over the weekend.

KNUTSFORD CHRISTMAS Weekend
Here is a summary of the events for the Knutsford Christmas Weekend. More details can be found on the council’s flyer. This year there will also be a Park and Ride Scheme operating; the shuttle will run back and forth between Booths Hall, Chelford Road (WA16 8GS) and Knutsford bus station. This is free with optional charity donations.
Knutsford Christmas Market
Knutsford Town Centre – Sat 1st Dec 12pm – 7pm & Sun 2nd Dec 11am – 4pm
A great chance to finish off your Christmas shopping! Don’t forget to visit the Town Mayor’s stall to enter the raffle and support some local charities!
Moorside to Canute Place, Knutsford – Sat 1st Dec 5pm
Father Christmas and his reindeer will depart from Moorside before heading along King Street & Minshull Street into Canute Place, where they will arrive at around 5:20pm. You can then say hello to Santa and his reindeer before the lights switch on at 6pm.
FATHER CHRISTMAS’ GROTTO
Silk Mill St, Knutsford – Sat 1st Dec 12pm – 7pm & Sun 2nd Dec 11am – 4pm
Father Christmas will be in his grotto on Silk Mill Street raising money for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust. Ivy Cottage Tree Farm have kindly decorated his festive grotto, take your little ones to meet him and receive a gift for the perfect Christmas
ENTERTAINMENT & CHRISTMAS LIGHT SWITCH ON
Canute Place, Knutsford – Sat 1st Dec 1pm – 7pm
Head to Canute Place for hot food, drinks & live entertainment. Local musicians, dancers & community/school choirs will performing, ready for the big lights switch on at 6pm. The timetable for the performances on stage can be found here (look in photos).
Children’s Crafts at the Library
Knutsford Library – Sat 1st Dec 10am – 2pm

A Little Christmas Trail for Families
Knutsford Heritage Centre – Sat 1st Dec – Weds 2nd Jan
Pick up an entry form at the Knutsford Heritage Centre then find the pictures Father Christmas has left in Knutsford shops he has visited! Post your completed form (along with a letter to Santa if you have one!) in the big red post box at the Centre, and you may win a mystery prize! Entry £1, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Click here for more details
‘Food Glorious Food’ Christmas Mansion
Tatton Park, Knutsford – Tues 27th Nov to Sun 2nd Dec
Enter a magical Christmas Mansion themed to ‘Food Glorious Food’ and decorated with stunning decorations. Special lighting and seasonal music adds to the festive atmosphere as you work your way through enchanting rooms – from the grandeur of the state rooms through to the servants’ quarters. There’s a special festive treat awaiting you at the end! National Trust members are required to pay entry to this special seasonal event. Click here for more details

Father Christmas at the Farm
Tatton Park, Knutsford – Weekends in December 11am – 4pm (last entry 3pm)
A holiday favourite, children can meet Father Christmas and his elf helpers along with our rare breed farmyard friends. Music from choirs and brass bands fill the air and there’s a children’s entertainer and storytelling to enjoy. Don’t forget to pose on Santa’s sleigh for a photo! Special admission price £7 per adult (including National Trust Members), £6.50 per child (aged 0-15, includes a gift). Vehicle park entry charge also applies. St John’s Church, Knutsford – Sun 2nd Dec 4pm
This month’s 4Life will be a Christingle Service with oranges, candles and sweets (come along to find out why!!) 4Life is new, informal, family friendly afternoon event at St Johns, with music, food, children’s activities and a short message about who Jesus is. Whether you have been to church in the past, or have never been, or if you have lots of questions about Jesus (or perhaps you think you have none), you would be very welcome to come along to find out more. Once upon a Winter’s Day
Quarry Bank Mill, Wilmslow – Fri 30th Nov – Sun 6th Jan
Explore the mill, gardens and houses to re-discover festive classics such as A Christmas Carol, The Nutcracker and The Snow Queen. In the mill, have a go at family activities connected with the stories, or wander through the indoor woodland to find the secret story corner. In the garden, follow The Snow Queen and Jack Frost on their adventures, or head to the Apprentice House for a special Christmas tour. The Taste of Christmas

Explore ‘The Taste of Christmas‘ this festive season at The Hollies Little Budworth. Starting on Saturday the 10th November for 5 consecutive weekends we have lots of our lovely suppliers booked in to showcase their products. Join in with festive activities for all ages in the atmospheric surroundings of the servants’ courtyard. In each room you can see a different festive display and there’s a place to add your own Christmas wishes. In the Butler’s Pantry items from the family’s Christmas decorations will be on display. We’re inviting mums to come in for a mulled wine and mince pie! If you would like some festive hair blow dried, curled or put up, we just ask for a minimum £10 donation to the Eve Appeal. No other charges. Kids can have a hot chocolate, candy stick, their hair plaited, gelled and/or glitter, all free.
